Sitting on Santa's Lap

Well, Morgan was not a fan of Santa this year.

We didn't think she would like him because she is
going through a big shy/wanting mommy only stage again.

We were right. I went with her and tried to
ease her into the situation, but from the minute
we were close to him she put her head down
on my shoulder/ I knew right then and there
this was not going to go well.

So mommy sat on Santa's lap too.

And we thought we would try one more time...

Nope, not a fan!

But, we did end up with some pretty cute
pictures if you ask me!

17 months

17 months already!! My baby girl is growing into a big girl. Makes me super sad.

Physical:
-The last time I took her to the doctor she weighed 23 pounds. I have weighed a couple of times since then and it has still been 23 pounds. She's up 2 pounds from the 21 she was at forever.
-She is wearing 12 and 18 month clothing. A lot of the 18 month is still too big, especially pants. She is going to be short like her daddy.
-In shoes she is wearing a size 5.
-Diapers is still a size 3 and doesn't look like they are even beginning to be too small.
-She now has 10 teeth, with 2 on the bottom trying to come in. The one on the left is swollen so bad and has been. I have never seen a tooth this swollen and seems like it is taking forever to come in. I feel so bad for her because she tried to cut 4 at one time.

August 2013

Eating:
-Morgan is back to not eating very well. She says she wants to eat but when you give her food she eats just a couple of bites and is done. Oh well, I know she will eat when she's hungry.
-She is still funny about eating. One day, or meal, she may eat something and then may not want it the next time. Crazy girl.
-Some of her favorite foods include green vegetables, especially squash, spinach, and green beans. She also likes cheese, yogurt, bananas, apples, watermelon, peaches, grapes, eggs, mashed potatoes, pasta, and spaghetti.
-For snack she likes to eat penguin cheese crackers, cheerios, raisins, crackers, fruit, and lots more.
-She still loves milk, juice and cold water.
- She has been eating at the table with us for about 2 months now. We now give her a plate and most of the time give her either a spoon or fork. She is getting better and better at using them.

August 2013

Sleeping:
- Her sleeping patterns are back to being super crazy. I think this is because she is trying to cut those two stinkin teeth. She was doing really, really well and sleeping all night. Not so much for the past 3 weeks. I am exhausted. I know she can sleep all night, and I know she can go back to sleep by herself, therefore I struggle so much with what to do with her at night. I am also easily persuaded, which aggravates the heck out of me. It's hard to know if I should leave her and let her cry or go and get her. I am so very ready for these teeth to come through and hopefully she will get back to sleeping better.
- We have transitioned her to one nap a day. I did this because she was doing great with her first nap, but wasn't always taking the second nap. She got to where she would just play, or lay in there for hours. So I thought it was time to go to one nap. Thankfully she has been sleeping about two to two and half hours and I am hoping she keeps that up.
-The girl still hates to sleep. Poor thing.
- Her nightly routine; bath at 8:30, then lotioned, brush teeth, medicine, and daddy gets her milk. We both take her to her bed, daddy turns the music on, I rock her. She gives him a kiss and he gives her milk to her, he then kisses her and then me. He turns the lamp off and she leans up for another kiss. This is exactly how is goes every single night. So funny!
- She loves to snuggle with her pink blanket. When I lay her down, she makes me give her every baby that is in the crib with her, that includes my pink bear, 2 mini cabbage patch kids, rabbit, first baby, and Minnie Mouse. Crazy girl! She also wants me to cover her up. Most of the time she goes straight to sleep.

August 2013

Play:
- Morgan does pretty well playing by herself, most of the time. She likes to play with her puzzles and for the most part can put the pieces where they go. Still working on getting them turned around and put in. She also likes to play with big legos.
- She is getting more and more interested in her babies. When we ask her if she wants to take one with her when we go somewhere, she almost always says yes. She loves to "love" on them by giving them kisses and hugs, and then wants you to do the same thing.
- She still loves books! She likes to be read to and will also sit and look through them herself. She still enjoys pulling 15 or 20 books off the shelf, but I try not to get on to her because I don't want her to have negative thoughts about books. Just trying to teach her how to use books.
- She LOVES to play outside and gets mad at you when you don't take her out with you. She really enjoys the sandbox, moon dough, dirt, balls, and her car. She loves to watch any animals she sees.
- She still really enjoys playing with Abby and they sometimes get a little rough with each other.
- One of her favorite games right now is to hide her face with her hands and you ask "where's Morgan"?
- She loves to be scared and will laugh and laugh!
- She loves to sing and listening to music. One of her favorite songs is If All the Raindrops were Lemon Drops and No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. Every time I sing You Are My Sunshine or Jesus Loves Me, she cries. Not sure why.
- Her new thing lately is to play her baby apps on my phone. She knows how to tap the screen to get it to do what she wants, and will whine at me to give my phone to her.
- She loves to go to the park and has recently started going down small slides by herself.
- She plays well with other kids. When we take her to the nursery at church, they always tell us how sweet she is the other children. She will pat their backs, give them hugs and try to kiss them. I hope this sweet disposition continues.
- She loves to dance and clap her hands.

August 2013

Random
- She is jabbering like crazy and tries to repeat anything you ask her to. Things that she can say that are very clear are yes, no (she says not instead of no), momma, dadda, up, and down. Things she can say somewhat clearly are nigh nigh (night, night), Abba (Abby), bubba's (bubbles) and ba ba (bye, bye). Things she tries to say but are no where even close include please, Grammy, thank you, cup, what's that and bath.
- She is all about watching TV now, which I do not like. Anytime you ask if she wants to watch Mickey or Doc, she ALWAYS says yes. She is even starting to get upset when you turn if off. I do not like this because I do not want her watching it all the time. I want her to know how to play and not be reliant on having it on all the time. She likes to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Doc McStuffins mainly.
- She accidentally called someone for the first time the other day with my phone. Thankfully, it was Cory's dad and not someone I rarely talk to.
- She always notices babies and young children when we are out, and wants to wave to them.
- She has just recently started saying hi when she waves to people. In the past, she would wave and not say anything at all, but then get upset when they wouldn't notice her.
- She still acts shy around people she doesn't know, but usually warms up quickly.
- She can give some of the silliest looks. Her little frown is the funniest thing.

First time eating at the table like a big girl.
August 2013

This little girl is getting way too big, way too fast! I miss her so much while I am away at work but am so thankful she is at home with my mom. I am sad that things are going so fast, but I am also looking forward to the upcoming holidays. It will be fun to do more things that we couldn't really do last year because she was too little. Love my girl and am so thankful she is in my life!!

First Piggies

These sweet piggy tales make me smile!

June 2013

Summertime Bliss

My summer memories all include being at my Meme's house. She took care of me during the summer while my mom worked. When I was young, I didn't cherish the time or the memories. Now that I am older I am so thankful for that time. Now that I have a daughter of my own, we go and visit her and Papa every summer too. My Meme is such an amazing women and I want M to know her and be blessed by her the same way I was and still am.

Being at Meme's house is a more laid back and there's no schedule. We rarely make plans and wake up not knowing what the day will hold. It's a time to relax and enjoy family. They live in a small town, and going to "town" means going to Wal-Mart, 8 miles down the road.

I love the hustle and bustle of a city but every once in a while it's nice to take a break and relax in the comfort of small town USA. Nothings better then seeing M play with my Meme. Meme adores her and loves to entertain her. The twinkle in her eye makes my heart happy.

I am so very thankful for the time we get to spend with Meme and Papa!

Baby Pool Play

This little girl loves the water..........
as long as it's not in her face!

She only stays in a couple of minutes.
I think she likes getting in and out more
then she likes staying in.

We ended up getting the hard, ugly, blue pool because
we just knew Abby would get in too. Nope!! She wanted
no part. Probably because she thinks she is getting a
bath, and she hates baths!

M enjoys it and that's all the matters.

Love my little water girl!

Thankful for Daddy!

Cory is such a good daddy to Morgan. He loves her so much and has since the first time he laid eyes on her. When they wheeled me back into the room and I saw him holding her, I knew he would arise to the occasion and do wonderful. I was right! There are many times that he does not understand her, is impatient, and I'm sure uncomfortable, but he still is so wonderful with her. He is always there to help me with her, loves to play with her, and wants to snuggle with her. Like any good parent, he wants the best for her and more then what was given to him as a child. I really feel that Morgan is so blessed to have him, but feel even more that we are blessed to have her!

14 Months

I had such a hard time getting Morgan's monthly posts done that I decided after 12 months I was going to change it up. So I have decided I will try every two months instead of monthly. Hoping this will help me keep up with it better.

I can't believe our baby girl is over a year old! I wanted a baby for as long as I can remember, we had so many problems, and now the pregnancy is over, the birth is over, and now the first year is over. Oh. My. Goodness. Time is going way too fast! I love this little girl more then I have loved anyone, ever! She is the absolute light in my life, and such an amazing blessing. She makes me a better person. The only thing that makes me sad is that she is so much like me. I am very afraid that she is going to have my attitude. She looks like her daddy, but she acts like me. I would have liked it to be the other way around. Anyway, on to Miss M.

Morgan, 14 months

Physical:
-Morgan weighs 21 pounds and has for months. I'm happy as long as she's not losing any weight.
-She is wearing mainly 12 month clothing, and a  few 18 month.
-She wears a size 4 shoe and absolutely loves shoes!
-In diapers she is in a size 3.
-She has 8 teeth and I don't see anything new trying to come in right now. We brush teeth every morning and every night. It use to be pretty easy to do, but not so much anymore. Now she likes to stick her tongue out and cover up her bottom teeth. I let her brush her own teeth after I am done. She just sucks on the toothbrush and tries to brush my teeth.

13 months June 2013

Eating:
-Her eating habits have been pretty good for the past couple of weeks. She was weird about eating. One meal she would eat pretty good, and then the next meal she wouldn't eat anything. The past 2 weeks or so she has really done well. She will eat and eat and want more.
-She is kind of weird about what she eats. She really isn't picky, but depending on the day, she may not want something, even though she may have eaten the exact thing yesterday!
-Her favorites include cheese, yogurt, bananas, green veggies, and eggs.
-She LOVES milk, juice, and COLD water. She will drink milk all day if you let her.
-She loves to snack and wants whatever you are eating, even if you offered it to her during her meal but she refused to eat it. Silly girl!
-She is getting better with not throwing her food in the floor when eating. But she still likes to share her snacks with Abby.

13 months June 2013

Sleeping:
-Her sleeping is getting better. She was working on sleeping through the night, and not waking up until 7:00 or 7:30. I was/am trying to break her of waking once in the middle of the night for a cup of milk. She was doing pretty good with it, and then we moved and went out of town. So I wasn't being too diligent with it, and trying to let her get adjusted to the new house. We have been here for about 2 weeks, so I am trying to get her back into the swing of things. Breaking her from that cup of milk in the middle of the night is not fun. For the past week I have been letting her cry and go back to sleep by herself. The first night took forever, the second night she only cried about 10 minutes. The third night was terrible!!! We were all up for 2 and 1/2 hours! But last night she slept all night! So proud of my girl! Hoping she will continue to sleep through the night and then longer, until about 7:00 or 7:30 again. When she wakes up at 5:00 or 6:00 she is so cranky.
-She still takes 2 naps a day. The first is usually 3 hours after she wakes in the morning, and the second is 3 hours after she wakes up from her first nap. She has been sleeping about 2 hours each nap.
-She sleeps with her pink blanket and holds her rabbit and is starting to want to hold her baby too. She's so funny because she will lay on the blanket and try and stuff the rabbit and baby under herself also. Silly girl! She still sleeps on her belly and I have been finding her lately with the blanket over her head. This makes me nervous so I try and move it.

Mid June 2013 13 1/2 months

Playing:
-She usually does pretty good with playing by herself. She likes to play with shape sorter, her phone, and build with her big legos.
-She loves to read!! She will sit and look at books for sometimes a good 10 minutes. She will also bring them to you to read and always says yes when you ask her if she wants to read. Love it!
-She loves, loves. loves to be outside! I think she would stay outside all day if we would let her. She enjoys scribbling with the sidewalk chalk, throwing balls, and playing in the cloud dough. She also loves to watch Abby run around and likes to throw her ball for her.
-She loves the water but hates it in her face.
-She loves to find little things both inside and outside, but loves rocks most of all. She will put just about anything in her mouth, rocks and dirt especially!
-She lovers all animals and pants when you ask her what a dog or Abby says. She loves the watch the birds and cats.
She really enjoys going to the park. Also loves to watch other people.

Meme's House June 2013
13 1/2 months

Random:
-She still only says momma, dada, and yes or yup. She signs milk, more, and eat, but often gets them confused. She is really jabbering and talking her own language. I love to hear those sweet sounds and wonder what she is trying to say.
-When she tries to talk she has started to stick her tongue out a little at the same time. It makes her sound like she has a lisp. I talked to a friend of mine who is a speech pathologist, and she said it was age appropriate and nothing to worry about it. I must admit, I was a little worried.
-She is having some attachment issues which makes me worry about when I have to go back to work. She wants me and usually only me. I know this is completely age appropriate and very common. She does not want daddy to hold her, just me. She even refuses my mom. She was doing ok with going to the nursery at church, but has been struggling with that lately.
-She has never been a peoples person but is getting a little better with that. As long as people aren't psycho when they come around her and let her warm up, she does pretty good.
-I blow dry her hair every night after her bath. She just sits there and plays while I do it. She knows where I put the hairdryer and will open the cabinet and shake her head no and frown at it. Crazy girl!
-She knows she is not suppose to have the TV remote or our phones. When we accidentally leave them in her reach, she will get it and come find us, smile real big and then run. When we catch up to her and she knows she's busted, she will throw it. Or, if she sees either the remote or cell phone she will shake her head no and point to it.
-She LOVES her pink blanket! She loves to sleep with it, play with it, drag it around and would like to have it at all times. She screams when she sees me throw it in the washer.
-She gives kisses and will sometimes give you a hug with out requesting one.
-She gives the biggest frowns, sometimes for no reason at all. She also gasps when she hears a noise or really to anything. It is super cute! She has the cutest little mischievous grin when she's doing something wrong.

Cloud Dough Fun

Another idea off of Pinterest! Cloud Dough was a
big hit with Miss M. It was super easy to make
and inexpensive. She wasn't quite sure what to do
with it at first, but quickly caught on. Trying to
keep it in the tub and keep her from eating
it, wasn't so easy.

What I really like about Cloud Dough, is
that it can be used over and over! This
will also be a fun activity for rainy days
or cold winter days.

Park Play

I have been wanting to check out the city
park for a while now. I actually wanted
to go last summer to swing with Morgan,
but Cory didn't want to. (Men!!)
Anyway, Cory was working one day,
so mom and I decided to take a picnic
to the park and check it out.

There's plenty of picnic tables and pavilions to
have a picnic, and lots of play area. It was actually
bigger then I thought it was and quite happy
with how good it was. Granite, most of it is
for bigger kids, they had a few areas
for smaller children.

Morgan had a lot of fun and loves to be outside.
She really enjoyed the slide and climbing up
the stairs over and over.

But I think the tunnels were her favorite!
She loved to crawl through and play
peek-a-boo through the holes.

This, she did not enjoy! Haha!! It just bounced up
and down, but she wanted no part of it. Oh that
face cracks me up. She is her momma's girl!

Looks like we will have a summer filled with
park play!
