Happy Birthday America!

This year for 4th of July we headed to Little Rock, AR to celebrate. My hubby has always wanted to go to the mountains for vaca but we just haven't made it that way yet. So this year he improvised with climbing Pinnacle Mountain. It's nothing compared to the real mountains we would like to visit but it was nice to do something different than what we usually do for the 4th and it was nice to be outside enjoying some fresh air and nature.

Morgan did so well and wanted to walk the whole time. There was a few times that there were too many rocks and we had to pick her up and hold her. She asked about everything on the way and once we saw some lizards scurrying around she was excited to look for more. 

She wasn't too happy to hold our hands but there were some parts that were just too big for little girls. 

The next day, 4th of July, we went back to Pinnacle Mountain but went to an easier trail. It was way nothing compared to what we had done the day before. Course, Morgan wanted to be held the whole time on this trail. Not sure what the deal was but I kept in mind that she is only two. She still did super good and I think really enjoyed both trips to the mountain. 

That night we went to the River Market to Pops on the River to walk around and watch fireworks. There were tons and tons of people but it was fun to check out the vendors and the food. They also had a little kiddie zone that Morgan got to do some free fun things. 

4th of July 2014

The bridge was gorgeous lit all with red, white and blue! 

It was neat because we got to listen to the Arkansas Orchestra which was pretty amazing. The whole evening was pretty wonderful and no other 4th of July in the past has compared to it. I am so glad that we were able and my husband was willing to stray from the usual plans to go make memories of our own as a family! Happy 4th of July ya'll!!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a very special day now. It was in the past because obviously I have a mother. But now it's special for me. Not because I want to be recognized, actually that never even enters my mind. No, it's because I have an amazing, precious little girl, who calls me momma. I am a mom. Two years ago I didn't know if it would ever happen. I didn't know if I wasn't being patient enough, or if it just wasn't in God's plan for me. I thank Him often for my little miracle baby! She is truly an amazing blessing and gift and truly the best part of my life. She lights up my day when I am sad or grumpy. She makes me laugh and cry tears of joy. I never knew I could love another human being as much as I love this little girl. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to love and take care of my sweet Morgan girl.



 

First Easter

Morgans first Easter was spent in Horatio Arkansas visiting

Meme and Papa. Holidays are getting more fun the older Morgan gets.

Meme and Papa had just gotten baby chicks the day

before we came. Morgan was in love.

 

 

We were afraid she might try to squeeze them to death or pull their little

heads off, but she didn't. She actually did really well with them.

 

We had so much fun visiting Meme and Papa. It's always nice to

kick back and take it easy, and that's just what we do at their house.

made our visit even more fun.

 

 

We dyed eggs,

 

the Easter bunny visited Morgan,

 

and celebrated Jesus rising again with church and

good food!

 

 

 We finished the day with an Easter egg hunt.

Feb 14, 2013 Morgan's first Valentines Day

 

Morgan's first Valentines Day was perfect. We let her open

her gifts and cards when we got home from school. She

got some books, sunglasses, the movie Pocahontas,

and a sock monkey. Then we went out to eat at

Ruby Tuesdays. I got some gorgeous flowers from

 my two valentines which made my day perfect.

 

I am loving the holidays even more since we have Morgan.

I love to do the crafty, baking, fun stuff of the holidays

and now I have an excuse. Love my little family!

How could we not be? She is definitely the cutest little turkey I have ever seen!

We are so very thankful for this sweet, precious baby girl. She is developing her own

little personality and becoming even more sweeter and lovable. We are so thankful for

those slobbery baby kisses, gorgeous smiles when she sees us, laughs of excitement when

we do something silly, and a little cuddle time when she's sleepy or taking a bottle. We always

have so many things to be thankful for but this Thanksgiving we have an extra precious little

girl to be thankful for. So very glad that Jesus had a plan and He knew what He was doing

when we went through our two years of infertility, and in the end gave us the most

amazing gift we would ever receive. So thankful that He knew exactly what we needed in

our lives when He sent Miss Morgan to us. We love her more then anything!

 

 

 

 

Morgan's First Turkey Day

This year for Thanksgiving we went to Indiana to be with my family. Everybody was able to make it except for Amanda and Kayden. We really missed them and hope they can come next year. I was super excited for Morgan to try some yummy food at Thanksgiving and was so glad she ended up awake during the meal. She was taking a nap and everybody kept saying it was almost time to eat. I was freaking just a little inside because I really didn't want her to miss it. I knew she wouldn't remember nor did she care if she was awake, but I wanted her there and I wanted her to eat some yummy food with us. She got to try mashed potatoes, gravy, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. She really liked it all.

I really enjoyed watching the babies play and Morgan interact with other kids. She doesn't get much interaction with other kids because she is home all day with my mom. Her and Katherine were so funny because one would start crying and then the other would start crying for no reason at all. Gracie seemed to enjoy the babies too. I think it was because she wasn't the baby and could "boss" the little ones around. No, she really didn't boss them but she enjoyed helping them out and probably having little people around her size.

 While we were there we got pictures of all the grand kids (except Amanda) with the grandparents and all the great grand kids (except Kayden) with grandparents. I would love to get them professionally done one day, but for now these will do.

My First Pumpkin

Our first tradition with Morgan was to carve a pumpkin. Cory and I have done this a couple of times and we have also done it a time or two with Kobi. I know it's a little ridiculous since Morgan really couldn't help us or even know what was going on, but that didn't matter to me. First of all I had seen a super cute pumpkin on Pinterest and secondly I just couldn't wait till she was old enough to understand. I was so glad we did it and I think the pumpkin turned out really cute!
